Bringing Pizza to Chermside: 

Overcoming Challenges

When a new Domino's Pizza Store set eyes on the first floor of a residential apartment building it came with a few complications which CSS had to overcome.

The site in Chermside, QLD, was a vacant space and came with a set of challenges. With the design calling for a state of the art open hood canopy to house the pizza ovens, all in view of customers, Project Manager Brandon Svedinek overcame the limitations to handover on schedule.

Due to being an existing residential apartment building, the roof was full of piping and ventilation which had to be worked around extensively. This included tearing and rebuilding elements so that the store could have a proper exhaust system.

Ready for booming business!

As a growing QLD suburb, Domino's Chermside wanted to entice customers with a full pizza making experience. This included the preparation benches, saucing table and open hood canopy ovens all in the open. As a highly commercial space, this open layout is designed to let customers watch their pizza being made before them. In addition, the front-of-house has comfortable fitted booth seating and tables for customers to eat their pizzas while hot under trendy lighting.

The fit out was conducted and managed by CSS, ensuring all onsite challengers were resolved and overall allowing for the finished product to be produced. PM Brandon and his team meticulously sourced all of the equipment to suit this trendy space in both the back-of-house and front customer experience.
